Hato Builico – A walker’s paradise
I am very excitied to have found Hato Builico – a cultural and natural wonderland. Hato Builico offers walkers an incredible opportunity to witness first hand Timorese culture against the backdrop of Timor’s highest and most sacred mountain – Mt Ramelau. This has to be one of the last undiscovered tourist destinations in the world – a walker’s paradise!
As I wrote in my journal after one of my walks…
I love Hato Builico… just been on another beautiful walk through lush green meadows, rejuvenating eucalypt forests, and vista after vista after vista!
We are in Hato Builico as volunteers to assist the community develop the area’s tourist potential. It is very early days. For more information SMS Anne +670 7285508.
This is great – so good to have a place to get information about mt Ramelau and bushwalking in Hato Builico!
Thank you Anne and Fiona for your truly inspiring work in East Timor. It is so exciting to know that the fantastic area of Hato Builico might now be better known for walkers and lovers of untainted places alike. I hope that lots of people come and spend their money in Hato Builico and get to love the area and also get to assist the people who struggle with making a living there.
